I kissed Lee Ann, Jane and Floe. I’ve kissed all the girls I know.
So when I met Peggy Sue, I asked if I could kiss her too.
“I said my name is Billy J. and I will kiss you if I may.”
She said her name was Peggy Sue and kissing me she’d never do.
She said, “I’m sorry, Billy J., I will not kiss you, there’s no way.”
“But would you kiss me for a lark? Would you kiss me in the park?”
“I would not kiss you for a lark. I would not kiss you in the park.
I will not kiss you Billy J. I will not kiss you, go away.”
“Would you kiss me in a tree? Would you kiss me by the sea?
Would you kiss me Peggy Sue, on the lake in a canoe?”
“I would not kiss you in a tree. I would not kiss you by the sea.
And one thing that I sure won’t do, is kiss you out in a canoe.”
“Would you kiss me if I sing? Would you kiss me for a ring?
Would you kiss me, just suppose, if I said that I’d propose?”
“I would not kiss you if you sing. I would not kiss you for a ring.
But Billy J., I do suppose, We might kiss when you propose.
But I will kiss you Billy J. I will kiss you night and day.
We’ll even kiss in a canoe, when you finally say, I do.”
“I like to kiss Lee, Jane and Floe. I like to kiss the girls I know.
I’d like to kiss you Peggy Sue but not enough to say ‘I do.’
So I won’t kiss you in the park. I won’t kiss you for a lark.
I won’t kiss you night or day. I won’t kiss you anyway.
I will not kiss you in a tree. I will not kiss you by the sea,
Not on the lake in a canoe. I’ll never kiss you Peggy Sue!”
