I planned to call this girl I met,
Who had invaded every dream.
I knew I’d marry her someday
And we would be a lifelong team.

A girl I’d never even touched
Nor had I held in my embrace.
But every time I closed my eyes
I could still see her lovely face.

She answered with a sultry voice,
I responded with a stutter.
As always, when I try for cool,
My dumb brain turns into butter!

“Will you marry me?” I blurted.
My well planned repartee a mess…
But then my spirit soared sky high
Because my dream had answered, “Yes.”

She loved me too! And she said, “Yes”,
This girl I’d yet to even kiss!
My spirit tumbled back to Earth
When she asked, “Now, just who is this?”
