One day, while reading on the beach,
A little lad came up to me.
He said,”Hey, are you a Christian?
Is that a Bible that I see?”

I said, “Yes, I am a Christian.
I read my Bible every day.”
He asked, “Before you sleep at night
Do you kneel by your bed and pray?”

I told him, “Yes, I do love God
And I sure hope that you do too.
But why ask so many questions
Of someone who you never knew?”

He looked at me and smiled and said,
“I want to go in the water
And I needed someone honest
I can trust to hold my quarter.”
