Yesterday I met a man,
While I was going for a walk.
He had bananas in his ears
So I stopped to have a talk.

“You have bananas in your ears.
Is it for some kind of dare?
Or have you just forgotten
That you stuck bananas there?”

This, to me, was very weird
And a thing entirely new.
I had seen them in one ear
But I had not seen them in two.

I thought he surely must not know
So I told him once again.
He just looked at me and said,
With a silly kind of grin,

“I can’t hear a thing you say,
It has been that way for years.
Ever since I started keeping,
Two bananas in my ears!”
