They watched the tiger in his cage,
The small boy standing by his dad.
“If he got out,†the father said,
“It surely would be very bad!â€
“The sign says it’s a man-eater,â€
The little boy quietly said.
“If the tiger was to eat you,
Doesn’t that mean that you’d be dead?â€
The dad, pleased with his son’s concern,
But seeing that it made him sad;
“What would you miss the most,†he asked,
“If that old tiger ate your dad?â€
The little boy thought for minute,
Then he said, “Dad, give me a brake,
How in the world would I get home?
I wouldn’t know which bus to take!â€
