My house is not the cleanest place
But it’s where all my children live.
I sacrifice a spotless home
For all the love and care I give.
Mom brags about my sister’s house,
That you can eat right off her floor.
On mine one finds a lot to eat,
Dropped there a day or two before.
My dish set is a little small,
It only places twenty-four.
With our two kids it lasts six days,
I’ve got to go and buy some more.
I got a book of recipes
But following them is sure tough.
It isn’t the ingredients
Of those I always have enough.
It’s that they all start off the same,
Like one I tried for cooking fish.
The direction that I found hard
Said I should start with one clean dish.
