I told Mama that I saw it
When I went to buy some gum.
She just smiled and shook her head
Like she thought that I was dumb.

But I sure know that I saw it
And I know that it’s still there;
It is in there with the gumballs
Doesn’t anybody care?

I am sure somebody lost it.
Won’t you just come here and see?
There’s an eye in with the gumballs
And it’s staring out at me!
