Carrying flowers to the cemetery
He passed a Chinaman with a bowl of rice.
He said. “I see you’re taking food to the dead?
I’m sure your dead friend must really think that’s nice”

That’s one Chinese tradition I think is weird,
There’s simply nothing we do that can beat it.
Just when do you think that your dead friend’s spirit
Will pop up from out of the grave, and eat it?

The Chinaman pointed at the man’s bouquet
Made up of twelve daises and a long stem rose.
My dead friend’s spirit will be eating his rice
The same time your friend’s spirit is smelling those.
