The excitement that my grandson brought,
was about the fish that he had caught.

He spread his hands out, oh so wide,
at least three feet from side to side.

I smiled because of what I know,
that’s bigger than a perch can grow.

He said as he went out the door,
“That’s just how far he was from shore.”
