Dancing in the Rain

They arrested me for dancing,
Just out there dancing in the rain.
They came, two men in uniform,
Who acted like I was insane.

They arrested me for dancing,
Just out there dancing in the rain.
I was dancing down on First Street
And I had just crossed over Main.

They arrested me for dancing,
Just out there dancing in the rain.
And they took me off in handcuffs;
Finger printing is such a pain.

They arrested me for dancing,
Are all my rights and freedoms gone?
I hope that my cell is heated,
‘Cause handcuffs are all I have on!
