They were on the lake ice-fishing
When the church bells began to ring.
They could hear the organ music
And the people begin to sing.

“You have no excuse for missing,
So I know the guilt you must feel.
I couldn’t have gone anyway,
‘Cause this morning my wife took ill.”
Have you ever noticed that the same excuse that will keep you out of church wouldn’t even slow you down when it comes to fishing or a football game or shopping or something that you really like to do?
