Last night our cat had kittens
It was such an awesome sight.
I saw her as she had them
Mother let me hold the light.
Daddy told me as I watched
I was born the same as that.
I know that he was kidding.
I’d never fit inside a cat!

Stick Horse
July 7th, 2006 — Poems for Children
I have a little stick horse
That I like to ride about.
It is the world’s best stick horse,
I have very little doubt.
I ride it in the kitchen
And in every other room.
But I must stop riding now
Because Mother needs her broom!
A Man From St. Joe
July 3rd, 2006 — Limericks, Quickies

Who liked to go out in the snow.

With whiskey and stout
And now has a tag on his toe.
