Mommy gave me these dumb slippers,
Donkeys just to please me.
They certainly aren’t the fashion craze
In that you can believe me!

She is my dearest Mommy
So doesn’t she know that
I’m going to be a Republican,
Not a Democrat?

Editor’s note: There’s a story with this one. Wayne was at a poetry reading at Barnes and Noble. Some of his fans had brought their little girl and she was wearing slippers. Her Dad asked Wayne to write a poem about her funny slippers and this was the result. (They were thrilled, of course!)
